My parents came up for the day on Saturday for family day for my sister's sorority, Sigma phi Lambda. I was in the sorority for two years but dropped out last fall due to school. I had a nice time seeing them, because I will not see them until I come home for Thanksgiving. My mom has never seen my new house since she was working on move in day. My dad was the only one who could help move me in. She loved my new place and how better it was than the apartment I lived in from last year. It was great catching up with them about my semester since I have not seen them this much this semester. To top it off to a great weekend; I took my ESL certification test last Thursday and it was hard. I got my scores today and relieved to say I passed. I was quite shocked to be honest. All I have left is my ppr test next Thursday. Hopefully I pass that one as well.
I went home for part of the weekend due to a family wedding. It was so nice to be able to spend time with my family and celebrate a new marriage. I was also thrilled to see my dog lilly. She is literally like my baby. I mean she is a shorkie (a shihtzu/yorkie mix) so she is a cute fluffy dog. Right when I get home she automatically grabs her little stuffed animal pig with her mouth and goes straight to my room so I can put her up on my bed. I am the only person in the family who lets her on my bed so she loves it. Anyways, it was fun, but the wedding was outside so it was really hot. I was dying hot  waiting for the ceremony to start. Her dress was so gorgeous when she walked down the aisle. It was a ball gown style but not to puffy to dance and walk in. Ironically the day of the wedding was my parents 28th wedding anniversary. Its amazing to think my parents have been together that long. They are each other's best friend. Overall, it was a great weekend seeing my family and grandp
I saw the movie "Happy Death Day" Sunday night with my friend Laura and my sister Kelsey. It was such a good movie. A part of the plot towards the end was a little confusing, but once I remembered the details throughout the movie it made sense. There were parts of the movie where I literally jumped out of my seat due to the suspense. The movie was very suspenseful which kept me at the edge of my seat the entire time. There were twists and turns throughout the movie which I did not see coming. After the movie I was exhausted due to the suspense and thrill. I felt like I got hit by a car. Usually when I watch thriller/ suspenseful or intense movies I am always exhausted after because my body tenses up during the movie.
This weekend I went to the San Marcos library to get a library card. I checked out two thriller books and am excited to read them. I have not read a book probably in almost two years. The literate life assignment reminded me of my love for writing. In all honesty, Netflix and Hulu have taken over my free time instead of reading. As i was doing the assignment, it made me reflect on all the books I read growing up and wonderful memories I had reading. In my opinion, its hard to find books as an adult, because growing up it was so easy to find books. Since now I am an adult I usually only read thriller and mystery novels. I love this genre, because the story keeps me guessing.
I am so glad I went home this weekend. I was able to catch up with my parents and tell them about my semester so far. My parents took us to dinner at my favorite Mexican restaurant, El Tiempo. They have the best fajitas! My mouth waters thinking about it. It was so nice to have this time with my parents and laugh with them. Having to leave home to come back to college is never fun, but even leaving my dog is the hardest thing ever. I know it may sound a little crazy to say, but I'm a little obsessed with her lol! I miss being home, because when I am home I feel like I do not have to think about school. I can kind of put school on pause for a few days to spend time with family. On the way back to San Marcos, I realized going home is become slimmer. I will most likely not being home until Thanksgiving break. That is soo long! I know my parents are coming up a few times to see us which will be nice, but it is still not the same as being at home. Especially next semester. I probably wi
